Allure

Electric circuit that charges my vein,

Serene numbness concealing the pain,

Shortness of breath, of that I’m fain,

In your warming embrace perfectly sane.

A vibrant tulip after a summer’s rain,

I reach full bloom and I never wane,

Your absence, of my existence bane,

my affection for you so fearfully inane.

For a glimpse of your eyes I’d take any train,

The thoughts in my head so intensely profane,

My passionate dreams are far from insane,

By your corpulent lips so delicately slain.

In words of love I have never lain,

If I knew I’d lose you, I’d love you in vain,

To my loving heart there is only one lane,

I’d give myself up if it be you I’d gain.
